Body part modeling is a niche that sells very specific products that need to be seen up close, like maybe earrings or bracelets. Full body modeling is pretty useless for these products because you can hardly see them, so body part models are used to show off the products in much more detail.

For example, if a company is advertising a new set of earrings, it’s pretty pointless having a full body view of a model, as the product is nearly indistinguishable. So, they will utilize a body part model that features just an ear and the earrings.
It’s actually not as straightforward as it sounds, as you need to keep this feature in tip-top condition. For example, if you’re a hand model with a big job coming up, you can’t afford even the smallest scratch or bruise, so hand models need to be completely committed to keeping their best asset at its best.
